Timely Tips for Better Deer Hunting
from:Deer hunting like most forms of hunting are vastly popular today and hunters are always looking for tips that will give them that edge over their buddies. We have found some great hunting tips that will help you bag that deer that you have so far only dreamed about. Because these tips are easy and can be put to use fairly quickly in the field they will give you good hunting results.
Several things that must be remember when you are deer hunting. First and foremost most deer sleep most of the day and roam around between dawn and dusk. This of course doesn't mean that deer won't appear during daylight hours, because they will. The key to hunting this animal knows everything possible about them and their habits. Search the trails and look for their tracks. See if they follow a certain pattern. This could lead you to where they may spend a lot of time. The more you know about their tendencies the better off you will be. Always mask your scent though as they can tell from many feet away that someone is in the area. Taking notes here is crucial to your success. The more you know the better off and more prepared you will be to get that prized buck.
Setting up your deer stand is something that is a part of hunting and should also be done with great care. Always get the stand up before the season starts. There are many reasons for this. Start by setting up a tree stand before the feeding in that area begins. That way you will be prepared. Secondly if you don't, it will scare the deer off by your scent and the noise you are making during feeding season. Finding the perfect tree stand isn't as tough as it sounds either. Look for a few tell tale signs that the area has deer in it. This can be tracks, to trees with markings from deer who have rubbed the velvet off their antlers. Another great thing to look for is dense brush. They seem to like to bed down there and it's usually a great place to look when hunting for deer. Make sure you can see everything from your location as this will give you the best opportunity to get that prized trophy. One thing also to remember is move your stand often so you have the best possible opportunities.
Quiet and stillness is something many people who go hunting for deer tend to forget. Always be ready and check your equipment often. You don't want to have one lined up just to find out your gun jammed. These animals are a lot smarter than we give them credit for. Most of them are shot downwind from their food source. This is something to consider when hunting. Remember that getting that prized deer doesn't happen overnight, but if you follow these tried and true tips your success rate should go up year after year. These are only a few tricks of the trade. Many of these have helped me capture my first prized trophy.
